Steve Hoffman shares one acre on Turtle Lake, in Shoreview, Minnesota, with his family, an ill-behaved puggle, four pampered chickens, and roughly 80,000 honeybees. He is a tax preparer, real estate broker, writer, and occasional French villager.
Twenty-six years ago, in a stroke of good judgment, he married Mary Jo, a rocket scientist turned artist, and together they made Eva, smart and strong, and tenderhearted Joseph, with the soul of Christopher Robin.
Steve's writing has been anthologized in Best American Food Writing 2014 and 2015. He won the 2014 IACP Bert Greene Award for Narrative Culinary Writing, and was a 2015 Finalist. He is a three-time AFJ Food Journalism Award winner, from 2013 to 2015. His work most recently appeared in the September 2015 issue of Food & Wine Magazine. He is currently writing a book about food, wine, and his family’s 2012 integration into their tiny Languedocian village.
